How to Decorate a Dramatic Christmas Tree

Christmas trees are the main focal point during the holidays.

When was the last time you were blown away by a dramatic Christmas tree in someone's home?

Why not decorate your own dramatic Christmas tree this year?

Consider using one or more of these ideas to add drama to your Christmas tree.

Most Christmas trees range in height from 5 foot to 8 foot tall.

If you want a dramatic Christmas tree, get one that is at least 10 foot tall.

The taller your Christmas tree, the more dramatic it is.

Lights
Most people put anywhere from 2 strands of lights to 10 strands of lights on their Christmas tree

If you really want your Christmas tree to have a dramatic glow, add at least 4 strands of 100 lights per foot height of tree (for a 10 foot tree, you would need 40 strands of lights = 4,000 lights).

Tree Color
A standard green tree is most common, followed by a green tree that is flocked in white.

To add drama, consider selecting a Christmas tree in a unique color.

You can have a pink Christmas tree, a black Christmas tree, a gold Christmas tree, or whatever color you desire.

Ornament Color
Standard Christmas ornaments are red and green with maybe some gold or silver accents.

To have a dramatic Christmas tree, select unusual and non traditional colors for your Christmas ornaments and other decorations.

You can use peacock blue, teal green, orange, fluorescent yellow, Tiffany blue, or whatever color or colors you want in any combination.

Ornament Size
Most Christmas ornaments are about the size of an apple or orange.

Instead of basic Christmas ornaments, select oversized ones the size of a cantaloupe or maybe even a basketball.

Unusual Materials
You can use a Christmas tree made out of unusual materials, such as metal, plastic, glass, or whatever you can dream of.

You can also have Christmas ornaments made out of unusual materials such as real musical instruments, car parts, stained glass, or vintage postcards.

Excessive Ornaments
You can use an excessive amount of ornaments in order to make your Christmas tree dramatic.

Try to cover every inch of your tree with ornaments so none of the tree is visible.
