You can decorate a real fresh Christmas tree or an artificial Christmas tree.

It can be a traditional green Christmas tree or a white flocked Christmas tree.

The green Christmas tree will reflect on the gold ornaments giving them a slight green tint.

The white Christmas tree will make the gold ornaments look lighter and more casual.

One designer trick for extra flair is to use a black Christmas tree.

A black colored Christmas tree will make the gold ornaments look darker and more dramatic.

You can even spray paint your Christmas tree a shiny gold color.

The shiny gold painted Christmas tree will add to the opulence of the decorations.

Christmas Lights
In order to make your gold Christmas tree sparkle, you must add many white or clear Christmas lights.

Here is an interior designer tip - even if your Christmas tree is pre-lit, you can still add more Christmas lights for extra drama.

If your Christmas tree is green, make sure to get green wire Christmas lights #ad. If your Christmas tree is white, make sure to get white wire Christmas lights #ad.

You must have at least 1 strand of 100 lights per foot height of tree minumum.

If your Christmas tree is 10 foot tall, you need a minimum of 10 strands of 100 lights = 1,000 lights.

You can easily add double that amount (or more) if you desire a really sparkly gold Christmas tree.

Starting at the bottom center of your Christmas tree, apply the Christmas lights while they are plugged in.  Run the strand on top of each branch and back towards the center.  Put lights on every branch.

Applying the Christmas lights will take a while, so be patient.  Occasionally step back from the Christmas tree to ensure you did not miss a branch.

Garland, Floral Picks, Etc.
If you wish to add garland or floral picks to your gold Christmas tree, make sure they are shiny or glittery gold.

You can spray paint, sequin, or glitter items yourself if needed.

Use different textures, such as glossy, matte, rough, and bumpy.

Another interior designer trick is to use many different colors of gold so the Christmas tree does not look flat.  Use gold wth a brown undertone, gold with a yellow undertone, and gold with a beige undertone.

Apply the garland and floral picks to your Christmas tree evenly.  Stand back on occasion to ensure they are equally distributed.

Christmas Ornaments
Select many shiny gold ornaments #ad for your gold Christmas tree.

You should have so many ornaments that you can barely see the tree they are hanging on.

Use a variety of different shapes and sizes.

A designer trick is to use different shades of gold ornaments for variety.  You can use light gold, dark gold, and any shade in between.

Consider using a mixture of colors including of yellow gold, champagne, and rose gold.  You can also include other similar metallics, such as copper and bronze.

Apply the ornaments to your Christmas tree evenly.

A designer trick is to put smaller ornaments towards the top of the Christmas tree and larger ornaments towards the bottom to make the tree feel taller and more dramatic (since things farther away seem smaller).

Christmas Tree Topper and Christmas Tree Skirt
When decorating your gold Christmas tree, don't forget about adding a gold Christmas tree topper #ad and a gold Christmas tree skirt #ad.

These items will put the finishing touches on your Christmas decorating.

Gifts
For extra designer flair, wrap your gifts to compliment your gold Christmas tree.

Use many different colors and textures of gold wrapping paper #ad and ribbons.
