A powder bathroom is a little room that is quite inexpensive to decorate and make a big impact compared with larger rooms in your home.
Most powder bathrooms have a toilet and either a pedestal sink or a sink on a small cabinet with an unframed mirror above.
Here are a few ways to upgrade your powder bathroom.

If you have simple ceramic tile in your powder bathroom, consider upgrading it to a stone or another unique tile.
If you can't redo the floors, get an interesting decorative rug.
Cabinets
To upgrade a sink cabinet, consider painting it a fun color.
You can also add some unique cabinet hardware.
If your budget allows, replace the existing cabinet with a unique cabinet that coordinates with the rest of your home.
Countertops
If your bathroom countertop is laminate or cultured marble, consider upgrading it to granite or another stone.
You can even select something more unique, such as wood or concrete.
Faucet
If your faucet is nothing fancy, you can upgrade it to a more unique plumbing fixture.
Try to coordinate the metal colors of your plumbing fixtures, light fixtures, accessories, and door knob so that there is no more than two different metal colors in that room.

Accessories
Most bathrooms have a toilet paper holder and towel bar or ring.
Replace the boring generic bath accessories with fun and interesting ones.
Make sure to use a unique hand towel.
Walls
You can either paint or wallpaper your walls to make them more fun and exciting. If wallpaper removal scares you, consider using repositional wallpaper.
Consider using a bold paint color, using decorative tile on the wall behind the mirror or from the floor halfway up the wall, or you can add wallpaper to the walls.
Don't forget about the ceiling! Finish off the walls by adding crown molding.
Mirror
Boring unframed mirrors are not decorative at all.
Decorate your powder bathroom with a unique decorative mirror.
Lighting
Many bathrooms have a generic light fixture on the wall above the mirror.
Replace that boring wall sconce with something more unique.
Artwork
Add colorful artwork to your bathroom for more interest.
Select one larger piece of art instead of several smaller pieces.
You can add art on the wall behind the toilet or the wall opposite the toilet.
