If humidity from your bathtub or shower causes your bathroom mirror to fog up, here are a few ways to reduce or eliminate mirror fog so you can actually see your reflection in the mirror.
In order to keep the moisture levels in your house under control, you should always use the vent fan #ad when taking a shower.
Turn the vent fan on prior to turning on the water and let it run for about 20 minutes after you turn the water off (you might want to get a special timer switch #ad so it will turn itself off after a certain amount of time).
Humidity in your home can lead to damage from mold, mildew, rust, and other bad things.
If your vent fan is outside your shower door, leave the shower door open after showering to allow the humidity to escape.
Many homes have vent fans that are barely adequate. Consider upgrading your vent fan to provide good ventilation.
Window
If you do not have a vent fan, crack open the window in your bathroom to let the humidity out.
The reduction in humidity should start to reduce the fog on your bathroom mirror very slowly.
You can even open your bathroom window prior to taking a shower in order to reduce the humidity in the room.
Temporary Fixes
There are many temporary fixes to keep your bathroom mirror from fogging up.
You can wipe shaving cream, shampoo, or liquid all over your mirror and buff it off, which should create a film that humidity does not stick to.
You may have to reapply the soap or shave cream weekly, but clean with glass cleaner before applying a new coat.
You can also try using car wax, car anti-fogging solution, or toothpaste (paste, not gel).
Fogless Mirror
You can invest in a fogless mirror #ad. Fogless mirrors are similar to the glass in your car that has a defrost feature.
Already Foggy?
If your mirrors are already fogged up, simply wipe them down with a towel or hit them with a hair dryer (not too hot).
You can also open the door to the bathroom to let some of the humidity out.
