Making cinnamon scented Christmas ornaments is a fun activity for the whole family and a memorable addition to the family Christmas tree.
You can make them most any shape or size. They are also great gifts.
Luckily, the recipe is very simple and your new cinnamon ornaments should continue to emit the cinnamon fragrance for many years.
2 cups cinnamon #ad Things You'll Need:
2 cups room temperature applesauce
Mixing bowl
Mixing spoon
Rolling pin
Cookie cutter of your choice
Straw or equivalent
Wax paper
Ribbon or string
Glitter or other decorations (optional)
Direction:
1)Using a mixing bowl & spoon or your hands, mix cinnamon and room temperature applesauce together to form a dough.
You can scale up or scale down the recipe as desired, just make sure there are equal parts cinnamon and applesauce.
2) Roll the applesauce and cinnamon dough out to be approximately 1/4" thick. Use your cookie cutters to form the desired shape.
Use a straw or something of an equivalent shape to make a hole at the top for your ribbon or string to hang the cinnamon scented Christmas ornaments.
3) Leave the cinnamon scented Christmas ornaments to dry on wax paper.
You may want to flip them twice a day after they are mostly hard to make sure they do not curl up.
Drying time may take 48 hours or more depending on the humidity in your home and the size of the cinnamon scented Christmas ornaments.
4) You can leave your cinnamon scented Christmas ornaments the brown cinnamon color or you can embellish them.
Consider applying glue and dusting with glitter or painting them a fun color.
