How to Decorate a Room in All White

Texture
When using only white in your decor, you must rely on textures to add interest to your room.

You can mix soft velvets with textured chenille, smooth shiny silk, and crisp cotton. 

Mix rough bamboo shades with slick leather, clear glass, shiny mirror, and a fluffy blanket for interest.

Tone on Tone
Add tone on tone elements for interest in your monochromatic room.

This can be fabrics that have a pattern created through shiny and dull portions or fabrics that use two different shades of white. 

You can also create a pattern through frosting on a mirror.

Metal
Incorporate a touch of metal to your white room to make the room less monotonous.

Consider using chrome, brass, or another metal for some glimmer.

Try not to mix more than two metal colors in the same room.

 
A Natural Element
Add a natural element to your white room.

This can be exposed wood on furniture, a stained wood floor, a stack of logs, or a plant in the room.

The natural element makes the room feel less sterile.  

Mirror
You can add light to an all white room by adding a mirror. 

Mirrors help bounce light around and add sparkle to a room. 

Mirrors can also make a room feel bigger by making the room appear to continue beyond the wall. 

Animal Print
Animal print is a fun addition to an all white room, just don't overdo it. 

A Bit of Black
Adding a few black items to an all white room will create contrast and make the room more exciting.

Consider adding a black fireplace surround or a black coffee table to your all white room.

A Drop of Color
Feel free to add a drop of color to your all white room.

You can add a small floral arrangement to add a tiny bit of color, or maybe a colorful coffee table book can be added to the room to add just a touch of color.
