How to Decorate an Entry Table

A table in your home's entryway or foyer may be the first piece of furniture a guest sees when entering your home.

It should invite guests into your home while setting the mood of the rest of your home.

Here are a few ideas on how to decorate an entry table.

The Correct Table
To properly decorate your entry table, you first must select the correct table for your entryway or foyer.

There are many different shapes, sizes, and styles to choose from.

Your entry table should reflect the style in the rest of your home.

If needed, make sure to select an entry table with drawers to hold items such as keys, sunglasses, stamps, a dog leash, and other small items needed regularly.

If your table does not have a drawer, you can decorate using baskets underneath for additional storage.

High, Medium, Low
Decorate your entry table with items that have a high, medium, and low height.

Don't make all of your accessories tall or all of your accessories short.

Flowers or a Plant (no fake ones)
Fresh flowers or a living plant, such as an orchid, are a welcoming addition to an entry table.

Flowers are beautiful and some also emit a pleasing fragrance.

Lamp
A lamp or a pair of lamps is a nice addition to an entry table.

The lamp will emit light and look beautiful.

Mirror
People like to look at themselves in a mirror before leaving the house, so the addition of a mirror over your entry table will not only look nice but also serve a function.

Unique Figurine or Statue
When decorating your entry table, add a unique figurine or statue to catch a visitor's interest.

It can be an antique piece, a piece from your travels, or something you found at a flea market and painted a metallic or bright color.

Hardback Books
Hardback books look good used throughout the home.

If you need to add height to some of your accessories, consider putting them on a stack of hardback books.

Photos or Artwork
You can also add framed family photos or artwork to your entry table.

The photos will tell about the family living in the home and the artwork will infuse color into the space.
