How to Display Trophies

If you or your children have a trophy collection (for sports, academics, or other achievements), the collection can easily look junky if not displayed properly.

Trophies should be displayed with pride for you and your guests to appreciate, not just thrown on a shelf to collect dust.

Here are some ideas, tips, and tricks for displaying trophies in a neat and organized manner so they are properly appreciated.

You can purchase or make a trophy case or glass cabinet to display your trophies.

Also consider re-purposing an old china cabinet for trophies.

When selecting a trophy case (or repurposing a cabinet into a trophy case), consider factors such as the size and quantity of trophies you wish to display, the available wall space, and the overall aesthetic of the room.

Adjustable height shelves are a good option so you can accommodate trophies of different sizes and shapes.

Also consider incorporating built-in lighting to highlight your trophies and create a focal point in the room.

Bookcase
A standard bookcase can be used to display trophies.

You can use the bookcase exclusively for trophies or blend the trophies in with your books and other items on the bookcase.

Consider adding an art light #ad to the top of your bookcase to shine on your books and trophies.

Floating Shelves
Floating shelves are a very popular option for displaying trophies.

Many stores sell floating shelves that are easy to install for a minimal price.

You can display just trophies on your shelves or you can add additional accessories to decorate your space.

Shadow Box
Displaying trophies in a shadow box is another way to showcase your achievements.

You can purchase or make a shadow box in the size that you need for your trophies.

Multiple shadow boxes mounted on the wall together would be a nice way to display a large trophy collection.

Along the Ceiling
If you or your child has or will have many trophies, consider running a shelf around the entire perimeter of the bedroom above the top of the window for trophy display.

Since the shelf is so high up, the possibility of the trophies being bumped and damaged is lessened.

Alcove in the Wall
You can cut into the wall to make a recessed shelf or cabinet between the studs in the wall cavity to house trophies.

A recessed alcove allows trophies to be displayed without taking up any floor space in the room.

Other Ideas
If the trophy collection becomes too large, consider displaying the most recent or most cherished trophies and packing away the others.

You can also display a team or individual photo with the trophy showing the event where the trophy was won.

Feel free to mix in some award ribbons and other symbols of achievement with your trophies.
