How to Add Sparkle to a Room

If your room if feeling rather boring and dull, you may want to add some glamour and sparkle. 

Remember that in order for things to really sparkle, they need to be cleaned regularly to allow the maximum amount of light to bounce off the surface.

Here are a few ways to add sparkle to your bedroom, living room, bathroom, or any other room in your home.

Crystal
Crystal chandeliers and other crystal light fixtures are great at adding sparkle, but you can also add crystal home accessories. 

Sparkling crystal home accessories include crystal bar ware, crystal figurines, crystal candle holders, crystal picture frames, crystal bowls, and crystal vases.

 

Mirror
Mirrors can also add sparkle because they bounce light around. 

Consider using an extra large mirror or a gallery wall of many different shapes and sizes of mirrors in the same finish going from wall to wall and floor to ceiling.

 

 

Metal
Metal adds sparkle to a room. 

You can have stainless steel appliances, a metal table, metal accessories, or even silver leaf your ceiling for added sparkle.

Consider using a less trendy metal color that everyone is used to seeing in order to draw extra attention, such as rose gold.

 

Glass
Glass also sparkles, so consider using glass cabinet knobs, glass accessories, and glass finials. 

Make sure to remove the fingerprints off your glass items regularly maximize the sparkle.

 

Rhinestones
Rhinestones add sparkle to a home. 

You can bejewel bathroom accessories, pillows, desk accessories, walls, pillar candles, glassware, napkin rings, decorative boxes, or most anything you desire.

Also consider adding sequins or other fancy beads to plain items in order to increase the sparkle and create an interesting texture.

 

Lacquered Surfaces
Shiny lacquer surfaces reflect light and create a sparkle. 

When selecting furniture for your home, the more reflective the surface, the more it will sparkle.
