Have You Considered Rose Gold?

Most people's homes are filled with the popular metal colors chrome, nickel, brass, pewter, gold, oil rubbed bronze, and/or wrought iron.

If you are looking for something a bit different, you should consider using rose gold.

Rose gold can be used on a few accessories in your home if you are not totally committed, or you can dive right in and use rose gold on all of your metallic items.

Rose gold looks especially nice paired with light pink and regular gold.

It would also look great in a contemporary space paired with black and white.

Since rose gold has a pink tint, it is typically used in rooms where the primary occupant is female.

It should definitely be considered when decorating a dorm room, teenage girl's room, or a female's office (either home office or office away from home).

Using rose gold in your room is the mature way to incorporate pink without it looking too juvenile.

Black and White Modern Farmhouse Bedroom

We were inspired to create this modern farmhouse bedroom design for people who like the farmhouse look but prefer a more modern aesthetic.

This bedroom blends a few farmhouse pieces that are not overly ornate with modern elements that are not too industrial for a truly unique and custom look.

The color palette in this bedroom is black, white, navy, and cream, which also lends itself to a modern style.

This bedroom design would be perfect in a country home or a more casual home in the city.

Traditional Blue and Green Living Room

Today's design rendering is a serene traditional living room with a blue and green color scheme.

The living room is flanked by windows and has a seating area in the middle.

The pieces that were selected are not trendy, so they should not go out of style anytime soon.

I hope this design inspires you while decorating your living room.

Colorful Contemporary Vintage Bedroom

This week's design is a contemporary version of a vintage bedroom.

It is colorful in moderation so the room is cheerful but not overly juvenile.

The items in the room are eclectic and feel collected over the years.

Contrast created by the use of bright white as well as dark brown, black, and gray makes the room feel contemporary and fresh.

This bedroom would be perfect in an older home, a home in a farmhouse or vintage style, or any home with a casual and fun aesthetic.

It could be a teenager's bedroom, a guest bedroom, or an adult's bedroom.

I hope this design inspires you while you are decorating your home.

My Trip to Magnolia Market at the Silos

On my way back from my daughter's gymnastics meet in Fort Worth, our GPS took us through Waco, Texas.

Since we were there, we decided to check out the Magnolia Market at the Silos, the home decor store of Chip and Joanna Gaines from the TV show Fixer Upper.

The trip was not planned, so I didn't do any research before hand and did not know what to expect.

The weather was gorgeous and my family didn't mind stopping for a little bit to stretch their legs.
