Designer Tips and Tricks for How to Decorate a Rustic Glam Christmas Tree

Mixing opposing design styles, such as rustic and glam, when decorating your Christmas tree can create a memorable Christmas tree that is not easily forgotten.

The most important designer trick for an amazing looking rustic glam Christmas tree is to have an equal mix of rustic and glam.

Here are a few designer tips and tricks for getting a magazine quality look.

Designer Tips & Tricks for How to Decorate a Rustic Glam Christmas Tree

Fluff
If using an artificial Christmas tree, you must spend a good amount of time fluffing your Christmas tree back into shape.

You should ensure that there are no holes and that you cannot easily see through the tree.

Your Christmas tree should look full and healthy.

Lights
Most people do not put nearly enough lights on their Christmas tree.

The bare minimum amount of lights you should have on your Christmas tree is one strand of 100 miniature lights per foot height of tree.  If your Christmas tree is 7 foot tall, use 7 strands of lights minimum.

Feel free to put 2 or 3 times as many lights, just try to hide the cords as best you can.

Even if you have a pre-lit Christmas tree, feel free to add more lights.

A designer tip is to use 1 or 2 strands of larger lights on top of your miniature lights to add dimension.

Another designer tip is to use 1 or 2 strands of blinking lights along the trunk of your Christmas tree to create a gentle twinkle effect.

You can use elegant wrapping paper, then use twine to tie a bow.

A designer tip is to get 2 or 3 types of coordinating wrapping paper and 3 to 5 types of coordinating ribbons and use different ribbons with different wrapping paper to create many different unique gift wrap styles.
