When decorating a white on white Christmas tree, you must start with a white tree.

You can use an evergreen tree that has been flocked white or an artificial tree that is white.

Lights
Most people agree that you need a minimum of 1 strand of 100 mini white or clear lights per foot height of your tree (a 7 foot tree would need a minimum of 7 strands of lights).

A designer trick for adding extra sparkle and glamor to a Christmas tree is to add 2 to 3 times as many lights.

So, your basic 7 foot tree should have 14 to 21 strands of lights.

It is nearly impossible to add too many lights.

You can also add 1 or 2 strands of blinking lights wrapped around the trunk of your Christmas tree only.

For more designer flair, add 2 strands of slightly larger sized string lights throughout your tree applied in a diagonal pattern.

Color
When thinking about the color white, we often don't consider the many shades of white.

There is off white, cream, stark white, and the list goes on.

Use a mixture of different types of white in order to get a designer look for your white on white Christmas tree and keep it from looking boring.

Garland
Your garland on your white on white Christmas tree should be white.

You can use a rough garland, such as popcorn on a string, or a smooth garland, such as strings of pearls.

Ornaments
In order for your all white Christmas tree to not be boring, you must use a mixture of textures when decorating your tree.

Use shiny and dull, hard and soft, and smooth and rough.

You can use shiny and dull sphere ornaments, hard ceramic and soft feathers, smooth glass and rough dried flowers.

For added glamour, consider adding mirrored, iridescent, crystal, or metallic elements.

Tree Topper
and Tree Skirt
Don't forget about the top and bottom of your white Christmas tree.

Top your tree with a white tree topper.

You can use a white owl, a white star, a white angel, or whatever white item you desire.

Use a white Christmas tree skirt or white fabric under your tree.

Gifts
Your gifts should complement your Christmas tree.

Wrap them in coordinating white gift wrap or brown craft paper with a white bow.
