Anyone who has kids probably has stacks of artwork.
They create artwork at school, daycare, friends' houses, and at home.
So, how do you archive the artwork in an organized way after it has spent some time on display?

First, purge out the artwork that didn't take long to create or is not a masterpiece.
Your garage would be filled with kid art in just a few years if you kept every scrap of paper.
You may want to ask your child to select their favorites to keep.
If they are really attached to all of the artwork, you may want to purge when they are not around.
Perhaps your kid's extra artwork can go to grandma's house or be used as wrapping paper.
Photograph
If you have a 3 dimensional piece of art or art that is over sized, consider taking a photo of it by itself and another of it with your artist.
A photograph stores a lot easier than a huge or 3 dimensional piece of art.
Perhaps that 3 dimensional artwork would be a good gift for a relative.
Store It
Next, get document boxes #ad or plastic storage containers #ad for the artwork you want to archive.
White storage boxes are a good choice because kids can decorate them with their hand prints or in any other way.
Label the boxes with the child's name, year, grade, current photo, or whatever other way you want to archive the artwork.
Frame Only the Best
If the artwork has won an award or is exceptional, make sure to get it framed and hang it in a prominent place in your home.
There are many other ways to display kids artwork temporarily until it is ready to be archived.
Set a Schedule
Set a schedule for how often you archive your children's artwork.
Consider keeping a big box all year and archive once a year in the summer.
Set a rule that all artwork for the entire year must fit in one box or more purging is required.
